Mike is the owner of Dreamstarters Publishing & The Million Dollar Book Agency. His life changed at the age of 22 when he read, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki.
That is when he decided to become an entrepreneur. Through many failed attempts and going severely into debt, he finally found his way. He escaped the corporate world, started a direct-to-home dog product service, and broke free from the chains of society. So, he decided to put his lessons and stories into a book for the world to read. Within a very short amount of time, the book led to speaking gigs, new levels of credibility, and a newfound ability to assemble a tribe.
This spawned the idea of a book creation service specifically for entrepreneurs. Just because someone doesn’t have the budget to hire a full-time wedding planner does not mean they don’t deserve to have a well-organized wedding. The better organized you are, the more you will enjoy your wedding day. A little planning in advance can go a long way! But, where do you begin? “Your Day Your Way” outlines why having a plan is so important and highlights how to create the magical event in an organized manner, without losing sight of what’s important.
Sydney Whidden was a recent bride herself and realized how intense the wedding industry really has become. In college, Sydney worked for a wedding planner and gained insight into what it really takes to plan a magical day. She also worked for a country club and an educational company that both hosted events. Sydney studied Hospitality and Entrepreneurship in undergrad and then obtained a Master’s Degree in Project Management. After earning her MBA she noted how similar business projects are to planning big events, including weddings. Most of it comes down to the 5 W’s; who, what, when, where, and why? Managing a large business project requires the organization of a thousand little pieces. Similarly, planning a wedding requires the organization and coordination of all the little pieces to have an unforgettable day. Being a bride herself, Sydney empathized with other brides who didn’t have experience and who didn’t have the money for a full-time wedding planner. If someone like her, who had worked at many weddings and events, who knows how to plan business projects and events, who had studied it and done it, still felt that planning a wedding was overwhelming at times, imagine those with no experience and very little money for assistance. What are they supposed to do? She feels that everyone should be able to enjoy planning their dream wedding which is why she formed Delightful Planning, and wrote this book for you.
